A Dining Room on Minimal Moolah

My dining room has been a work in progress.

For a long time.  A long time. A really long time.

Heck, it'll be a work in progress forever.  What isn't around here?  Me included.

This is how the dining room looked upon inspection.  I'm loving the minimalist look.  Can I go back to this?  Picnics on the floor sound good to me.

This is how it looked as we moved in.  Not much.  Baby stuff moved in first.  And the stereo.

This is how it typically looks.

Um, maybe it could use a little picking up.  This is a little better.  Not 10 procedures in one day, but better.

This is what it looks like today.

It's still a work in progress.  I don't plan.  If you read my blog, you'll know that.  No mood board or this and that.  I do it by the seat of my pants.  Sometimes I use the seat of my pants.

In the coming week I'll showcase a few of the thrifty things we're I'm doing to spiffy it up and give it a little personality.  Biker Boy's in charge of future a new dining table.   In maybe 10 years.  When the kids are done making a mess at the table and drawing on it with markers.  And yes, it's snowing today.

How do you plan a room?  Do you draw up a plan and finish it through all at once or slowly?  No plan?  Just get it done as you find things?  Hire someone?

I think my problem is I can't ever decide what I like.  Or maybe I like too many things.  But it's fun creating things. Go and create something yourself this weekend.  I think Scooter and I are going to go create a snowman.
