Clock Make-Over

Good morning everyone! I hope you had an enjoyable weekend!

I was feeling a little under the weather, but I had three wonderful caretakers. We still got outside to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and I didn’t have to cook once during the whole weekend. That’s even better than being taken out to eat just once. (At least for me!)
Our hike on Saturday

I thought I’d share a few projects I worked on last week. Pretty much free projects that I put up on the wall. I accomplished it all while the munchkins ate. If I let them, they’ll take forever to eat. Breakfast would lead right into lunch. Sometimes I can get things done then. I sit with them and work on something while they laugh and eat. Perhaps that’s why they’re so slow….they laugh too much. I’ll take that over the screaming!

I gave a clock a makeover. Just some airbrushing. No plastic surgery. Biker Boy made this clock in high school and I didn’t want to wreck its structure. He gave me permission to do whatever I wanted with the hardware.

Paint works wonders. Now if only I could work wonders with makeup. Oh well.

Here’s the clock before. It was time for that ship to sail. (Look at that dust!)

Here’s the clock during.  I kinda like it plain and without numbers! (For those of you who have visited…I’m rearranging the entryway!)

Here’s a close-up of the makeup applied clock. Except there’s no washing this makeup off.  I can't wash the paint off, but I can wash the numbers off and change them when I want to!  And yes, I still have to dust it.

One last view….this is what I have today. Just a few more things to work on at some point. (Like spray painting that gold lamp when the wind stops blowing!)

Interested in what I did? Not a whole lot. I mean, I didn’t do a whole lot. Or maybe you’re not interested in this a whole lot. Either way, I’ll tell you what I did. I spray painted the drawer knob and clock hands white. Then I painted the ship over with chalkboard paint I had on hand. I tried my best to draw numbers with white chalk, but well, I’m not that talented at it. That’s okay, cause I don’t mind imperfection in things I make. Most of the time. Now if I could just figure out how to slow time down. My little ones grow up so fast!

And that’s my clock makeover. Now I’m ready for mine!

Any free makeovers you’ve completed?
