Scooter & Chewy Read - Fashionable Fowls

Do you like to laugh?  Get ready to laugh and smile and enjoy!  There's nothing like chickens all dressed up beautifully.

The two books I'm featuring today are by Mary Jane Auch. (Check out that link to her website!)  I think we've got to go and check out more books by her.

Chickerella by Mary Jane Auch and Herm Auch

Do you get it?  Chickerella?  Cinderella.  This is a chicken version of Cinderella with some twists.  Some very fasionable twists.  Some entertaining and chicken worthy twists.  The graphics (it's a mix of traditional and digital) are awesome.  I believe Mary Jane Auch actually used her daughter's prom dress in this book.  Got you interested yet?  Check it out.  My little fashionista loved this book, as did my truck and dinosaur loving boy.

Peeping Beauty by Mary Jane Auch

Do you get this one?  Peeping Beauty?  Sleeping Beauty.  Except this one is less about Sleeping Beauty than you would think.  It involves a ballerina hen and a hungry fox.  It involves a ballet of Sleeping Beauty and a hungry fox.  A hungry fox and a hen.  Hold your horses.....there's a happy ending....at least for the hen!  You've got to see how this ends when there's a hungry fox and a ballerina hen.  And yes, my little tutu wearing fashionista loved this book, as did the dinosaur and car loving boy.

Do you have a fashionable little girl like my Chewy?  Got a creative little girl?  Do you like to get involved with your girl's fashion choices?  Wanna make the day of a young girl with a great gift idea?  Come back on Monday and check out the giveaway I'm hosting for a gift certificate.  I'm pretty excited about it!

If you have any fashionable book recommendations, please leave some!  Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a wonderful weekend!

Psst...the images used were from Barnes and Noble.

  2. Not sure how old your daughter is, but I love the book Hundred Dresses. You simply MUST read this to her when she's old enough. I think it has great lessons for all girls.

I'll be back to check out your giveaway -- I'm the momma of a girlie, too!
