Calling All Mothers of Preschoolers

  • Do you call your husband by "Daddy," rather than his name?
  • Do you take more time wiping noses and bottoms than you take to put on your makeup and do your hair?
  • Do you write reminders and grocery lists in crayon?
  • Do you eat off your children's plates?
  • Do you have cheerios in your car or places other than your table?
  • Does your purse contain more things than it should?
  • Do you use words like "bye-bye," "boo-boo," "potty," "tinkle," and "toot"?
  • Do you recognize the names Elmo, Dora, Arthur, Curious George, and Clifford?
  • Do you spend more time reading children's books than you do adult books?
  • Do you think you could win "Name That Tune" if all the songs were nursery rhymes?
  • Do you ever take "alone time" in your bathroom?

If you've answered yes to one or more of those questions, then you'll fit right in at MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers).

I've been in MOPS for over 4 years.  It was my saving grace when I moved to the southwest away from family.  Two hours of child-free time to know that I wasn't alone in lack of sleep, spit-up stained clothes,  potty training fiascoes, and temper tantrums.  I've made some really great friends in these groups.  (Hi to you and you and you!)  Groups are gearing to start up when the older kids go back to go check one out!

If you're a mommy of some young ones, I'd totally recommend checking out a MOPS group or another mommy group in your area.  MOPS welcome mothers of all types and even has groups that cater to the needs of certain mothers (working, teenage, military, etc.).

You can find more info and a local group near you by checking out the MOPS website.  You can even email me if you have any questions.

And no, I'm not paid to write this nor am I affiliated with MOPS in any way.......other than being a member.  I'm just a happy mom who attends MOPS meetings.

So tell me, do you attend a MOPS group or another mommy group?  What do you like about it?

And that folks is my PSA for the month.  Back to regular programming next time.
