Easy Halloween Party Food

Scooter has his kindergarten Halloween party today.

There's nothing like entertaining a bunch of costumed 5 and 6 year old kids. It's going to be so much fun! (Really, I'm not being sarcastic! It will be fun!)

I'm signed up for the veggie platter and bread.

The veggies are already cut, so why not arrange them into a skeleton.

It's not an original idea. I'm not quite sure who to give the credit to. Google veggie skeleton and you'll see it a lot of places and done in a lot of ways. Scooter helped pick out what veggies I should use. Chewy helped me arrange it.

Bread sticks are an obvious choice for bread. And bread sticks shaped into fingers is an even more obvious choice. Google that one too.

And I went super easy with this one too. There's no need to make this complicated. (I know, I know....some of you are thinking this is complicated.) I used a box of puff pastry I had in the freezer that I got for a good deal. I used one puff out of the two in the box. Let it thaw and press some grated cheese into it. (I used Parmesan and Romano).

Cut out long skinny rectangles, put an almond on for a finger nail, scratch in a few knuckle marks, and you've got a finger. You could use an egg wash to help adhere the almond to the fingernail. I make it easy by skipping that step and just wrapping and pushing the almond into the puff pastry. If they fall out while baking, just slip them in between the puffs after baking.

Bake those fingers. 375 degrees for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with some sort of tomato sauce. I just opened and warmed up a jar of pasta sauce. (Gotta love Paul Newman!) And I threw in some Halloween rings that Chewy found at the dollar store when we were picking up dinosaurs.

Super Duper Easy Halloween Party Food! Yay!

What's some of your favorite Halloween food? Whether you've made it, seen it, or eaten it?
