Inspired This Week

Thursday already?  Are you having a busy week, like I am?  Or is it just too slow for you?

Here's a few things that have inspired me this week:

Bird Feeders
Kimba over at A Soft Place to Land made some nifty bird feeders with directions from Saltwater Kids.  Chewy and I made some to give away and some to feed our birds.  The pictures below are ones that we hung up.  I will say that these type of feeders present a challenge to some birds.  I think they expend more energy trying to get a seed.  Poor things.  But it is fun to watch.  Poor things.  So fun to watch.  Poor things.

Closet Overhaul
Kate over at Centsational Girl redid her closet and I'll just say.....It's Fabulous!  Inspiring.  So I went into our master closet and purged away.  Our closet is partial closet and partial storage area because we don't have a basement or extra room.  I purged and purged.  It's not gorgeous, but it's more organized.  And I don't have a picture to share.  Or do you want to see where I put all the stuff I purged?  It's sitting in my bedroom, waiting to be donated somewhere.  But it'll probably sit there another week.

Prettying Up Pictures
I love, love, love, love The Coffeeshop Blog and The Pioneer Woman for their fabulous photo actions and tips.  I can use my el cheapo snap and shoot camera to get a photo, put it in my Photoshop Elements, crop it, hit the buttons for some magical actions and come out with a decent looking photo.  Well, at least Chewy is decent and cute.  I never like myself in photos.  You can see the before and after below.  I have no photography skills what-so-ever and can't even tell you photography terms.  I did know how to use my camera timer to get the picture and that's impressive for me.  And my photo editing skills are not top notch, but I'm not a photographer.  As long at I'm happy, I guess that's what counts....even if I look pale in the picture.  And I love the memory of Chewy trying to "squeeze me love" as we took the pictures.

Way too many fabulous and crafty people out there to mention.  I think all my family has gotten their Valentine cards, so I can share with you what I did.  (Insert slapping myself on the forehead because I forgot to take a picture of it!)  On the front of the card it said, "Chocolates."  And I had the card wrapped in a ribbon.  So you had to unwrap it like a box of chocolates.  On the inside it said, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get."  Yep, I'm totally creative like that....getting my ideas from a movie.  Then there was a picture of the kids that you see below.  Get it?  They're suppose to be the chocolates. And seriously....with kids....sometimes you never know what you're going to get from moment to moment.  Especially with Chewy.

What's inspiring you this week?

Enjoy your week and have a Happy Valentine's Day!

  1. What a fun post!! You seem incredibly inspired. :)

I just checked out the closet makeover page... oh my goodness...
My closet looks NOTHING like that. Not even close. Does she have kiddos at home? Wow.

  2. What a fabulous idea!! I'll bet everyone that got a card like that was smiling from ear to ear!

Thank you for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it. Comments will be moderated eventually. Computer use only occurs when kiddos are asleep or otherwise occupied. Thanks for your patience.
