Practicing Portraits

Whoa!  Two posts in one day!  But I wanted to share my quick portrait session with the kiddos and dog.  That way the grandparents can ooh and ahh over their adorable grandchildren and granddog.

I obviously still have a lot to work on with my photography skills.  I'm still learning aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings for different light and places.  Plus I'm still learning my tweaking skills in Photoshop Elements.  These took some tweaking, okay...quite a bit of tweaking.  I used a wrinkly tablecloth as my backdrop and I had to get rid of the wrinkles.

This was about 10 minutes of photos, 2 minutes of marshmallows, and maybe 15 minutes editing.  Not bad.

I am a little better with outdoor settings and natural light, but I want to get better at the indoor portraits too.  Practice, practice, practice!

I know each person taking photographs has a different way of seeing things and different ways they like to edit photos.  Do you have a favorite type of picture or type of editing?  Any suggestions, tips, places for tips?

Psst...I kind of like the last one of Ranger.  It's almost like he's trying to hide in the background and not be seen.  So serious.  And I didn't edit out his eye boogies, cause that's a big part of him.
