Stenciling: A Family Affair

Oh...this girl's room.  2 weeks and I'm finally done.  Actually I have to start putting the furniture back once I'm done blogging.  2 weeks of painting and most of that was stenciling.  Probably my first and last stenciling project.  Ever.

Let's take a look at a couple of previews and when I find more time I'll write up what I used and how I did it.  And what I learned....let's just say....I learned lots.  And mostly...that this is a time consuming, patience testing, life draining experience.  I kept thinking of all the other things I could be doing.  But....my little girl loves her stencils so much that she wants us to do all the walls and the ceiling in her room with "the design."  That ain't gonna happen.  One accent wall is more than enough!  But even with the errors and mistakes in it....it's pretty good.

I did the majority of the room myself.  But the kids did get in on the action for a bit.  Scooter lasted a few minutes and then just wanted to climb the ladder.  Chewy actually loved the painting.  She's my crafty and artsy girl.  I cut her off after an hour when it was time to be done.  And Biker Boy was an angel and took over near the ceiling for me on Saturday so I could go out for a run.

Stencils?  Anyone ever use them?  Thoughts?  I'll just say using 2 colors on one stencil form is a beast and a half.
