These will be short and sweet overviews.  I've been so busy, I'm actually behind in posting these.  I apologize.  You can see I've hardly posted on this blog in awhile.  My photography had me busy, not to mention schooling my kiddos! We had a week off for a vacation and the kids will be taking another week off at Thanksgiving.  Plus some more time off for family visits.  We won't be doing a ton of science then.  You gotta love having a homeschool schedule!  We learn lots, plus we get to travel, and the kids can have time with family when they visit!  I'm currently working on Earth Science with the kids.  We just completed our first week of it, which is Week 13 in the curriculum.  We took a week off after Life Science was done.  Here's hoping I can keep up!

Week 9: Human Body Systems - Skeletal, Muscular, Nervous

I split the human body systems into 4 weeks and just touched highlights.  My kids loved watching the Magic School Bus movies the best.  Plus, the books!  This week's plan came a couple of weeks before Halloween for us, so that skeleton made a great Halloween decoration. Plus it had the names of the bones on it...bonus learning!

Week 10: Human Body Systems - Circulatory & Respiratory

We had fun with this weeks activites, especially the lab day.  Finding out how much air is in your lungs was fun and the kids loved making a model of a lung.  Good times!

Week 11: Human Body Systems - Digestive & Urinary

This week was quick for us, since we left on vacation.  We did the daily activities, but the lab activities we did were quick.  I've included links for longer activities, since we didn't have time to do them.  No time.  Oh...but I've got a vacation photo!  And we worked our digestive systems with lots of food.

Week 12: Human Body Systems -Skin

Fun with skin, hair, and nails.  Skin is our largest organ.  My kids loved the online videos we watched (well, most of them).  They do love the lab days the best.  This lab didn't take too much time, but they still love the activity.

And there, there's four more weeks of science!  Next up is Earth Science!

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been trying to figure out how we could do an anatomy study during the month of January and thanks to you I know how! I had been finding all sorts of unit studies but most were longer than a month. I will be using your study! :)

    1. You're very welcome! I hope you and your kids have fun with science! Have fun picking and choosing what you do! I'll update some of the lesson plans soon...I think I forgot the list of materials for the labs in one section...but at least they're still listed somewhere! Good luck! And thanks!
