Free Elementary Science Curriculum for Homeschool: Weeks 21-24

Wow!  It's been a month since I posted here.  That's how busy I've been. Just trying to keep up and stay half a day ahead of my kids!

Here's an overview of weeks 21-24.  We're continuing on with Earth Science and starting Physical Science.

You can catch up on the previous weeks here:
Weeks 1-4
Weeks 5-8
Weeks 9-12
Weeks 13-16
Weeks 17-20

The links for this weeks PDF documents (Google Drive) can be found here:

Lesson Plan for Weeks 21-24 Student Worksheets for Weeks 21-24

These will be short and sweet overviews again (hopefully, but I've been known to ramble on a keyboard).  Copy and paste is my friend right now. At least I kinda keep up with my photography blog.  Sometimes.

As with the other weeks...each week has 2-4 topics.  I list pages of books that we own and read along with those topics.  But you don't have to read those books.  Just choose any book that relates to the topic of the day.  The library is your best friend!  We visit ours once a week and get books that relate to the topic (some I list in the curriculum and some I don't.)  Or find an article online or website that relates to the topic, I do give some suggestions.  And again, I have not proof read all these yet.  Maybe in the future.

Here's a quick breakdown of our activities:

Week 21: Weather

More fun with weather this week.  This is the second week of weather.  We talk about clouds, rain, snow, tornadoes, hurricanes, and storms.

 Week 22: Your Choice

I had planned a week on alternate energy, but I was getting behind.  So we took this week off.  You could plan your own week if you so desire.  You could take the week off, research alternate energy, or focus on something else that your kids are interested in.  Those photos are some weather labs!

Week 23: States of Matter - Solids, Liquids, Gases

We talk about solids, liquids, and gases.  Yep.  You can make it basic or take it to the next level with your kids. The Jell-O making was a big hit with my kids.  I don't like the stuff, so that means I rarely buy it. (It's a texture thing). The kids were super excited to have Jell-O, so was my husband.

Week 24: Elements, Compounds, Mixtures

We talk about elements, compounds, and mixtures.  Make it basic or research topics more if your kids are interested.  My kids like the lab.  Especially when you can eat things.

We're nearing the end.  I can do it. I can do it.  You can do it.  Then on to planning next year!
